Warm weather in Malaga

It seemed like it would never arrive but finally this month we celebrate the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year, meaning it is officially summer. Now as you look forward to those summer holidays on the Costa del Sol, do not forget that here in Southern Spain you can expect almost eternal sunshine (over 300 days per year) and with that comes some boiling temperatures. However here at MAC Hotels we do not want you to worry and that’s why we have put together the perfect plan of things to do in Malaga when you need a break from those warm weekend temperatures.

Though the province of Malaga is known for sun, sand and beautiful beaches it also boasts an incredible wealth of history and culture which make it home to a number of museums that are truly worth visiting and none more so than the famous Picasso Museum, located in the centre of the capital city. The famous artist who is credited with starting the cubism movement was born in the wonderful city of Malaga and therefore there’s an extensive collection to check out. So get out of the sweltering sun and seek refuge in the air conditioned halls of this wonderful art gallery and discover more about Picasso and the city of Malaga.

Next stop during your holiday in Benalmadena should definitely be to the Costa del Sol’s largest water-park – Aqualand; one of the best days out you can spend in Malaga. Located in Torremolinos just next to Benalmadena, this water park is the perfect day out for adults and kids alike. With all the favourite fan pleasers from wave pools, to lazy rivers and large adrenaline inducing slides, you can easily spend the whole day here cooling off on the warm summer weekend.

You may not want to leave the comfort of your 4-star hotel in Benalmadena during those warm weekends but thankfully at the MAC Puerto Marina Hotel you won’t have to walk far to enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of the selection of boutique stores and high street stores where you can find a host of wonderful souvenirs from Malaga. Then once you have enjoyed a spot of retail therapy why not relax at one of the many waterfront bars and restaurants and watch the people go by while you enjoy a refreshing drink.

Finally it’s hard to mention a summer holiday in Benalmadena without mentioning the incredible selection of beaches which you can enjoy in the surrounding area. So why not tackle the summer heat head on and head to the beaches like Playa Carvajal, Bil-Bil Beach or the famous Arroyo de la Miel and cool of in the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic. So for an unforgettable holiday look no further than MAC Hotels and bring on the summer!
