It is well known that Mallorcan food is peculiar, tasty and nutritious. The aim of this post is to present the most typical products from Mallorca, so that when you come you can tell them apart. Let’s start!

  • Ensaimadas of all kinds for al tastes: the ensaimadas in Mallorca vary in the size and in the filling but the most traditionalones, protected by the “guarantee of origin” are:
  • Ensaimada de Mallorca: name given to the ensaimadas with no filling. You can also find it though, filled with sweet pumpkin preserve.

But if you really have a sweet tooth and want to enjoy the great variety of ensaimadas offered on the island, here are the options available (and surely we are forgetting some): filled with cream, custard, burned custards, chocolate, with “tallades” (sobrasada and candied fruit, typical of the carnival period).
